Ultraviolette X47 Crossover Launched : Ultraviolette Automotive has officially taken the wraps off the X47 Crossover, its most ambitious electric motorcycle yet and one that signals a bold new chapter in India’s EV motorcycling landscape. Built on the futuristic ‘X’ concept first revealed at EICMA 2024, the X47 is positioned as a crossover adventure-tourer that combines the long-range practicality of a touring machine with the sharp performance of a street motorcycle.

At an introductory price of ₹2.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the first 1,000 customers, the X47 instantly places itself in the sweet spot of the mid-capacity adventure segment, going head-to-head with petrol-powered rivals like the KTM 250 Adventure and Triumph Scrambler 400X. Once the introductory phase ends, the standard price for the 7.1kWh model will rise to ₹2.74 lakh, while the larger 10.3kWh variant’s price is set to be revealed later. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in October 2025, giving enthusiasts something to look forward to this festive season.

What sets the X47 apart is its segment-first radar-based safety suite, which brings advanced rider assistance features never seen before in this category. Christened Hypersense, this 77GHz radar system enhances rider awareness by scanning blind spots, monitoring lane changes, and even warning of potential rear collisions – a major leap in motorcycle safety at this price point.

But that’s not all. Ultraviolette has equipped the X47 with dual dashcams, a connected TFT instrument cluster, multiple riding aids like traction control and ABS, and two powerful battery pack options promising ranges of 211km (7.1kWh) and 323km (10.3kWh). With peak output of 30kW (40.2hp) and 100Nm of torque, performance figures like 0–60 km/h in just 2.7 seconds and a 145 km/h top speed ensure the bike isn’t just about technology, but also thrilling ride dynamics.

The hardware backing all of this is equally impressive: a new aluminium chassis, 208mm ground clearance, long-travel suspension, and Bybre disc brakes. This makes the X47 capable of handling Indian highways, broken roads, and light off-road trails with ease. For riders looking for exclusivity, Ultraviolette has also announced a limited-edition Desert Wing variant, finished in a special sand-coloured paint scheme and offered with touring-focused accessories like panniers, crash guards, and knuckle protectors.

In essence, the X47 Crossover isn’t just an electric motorcycle – it’s Ultraviolette’s declaration of intent. By merging cutting-edge safety tech, connected features, strong performance, and everyday practicality into one package, the company has created a motorcycle that could potentially reshape the way Indian riders perceive both adventure bikes and EVs.

Design & Styling

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover has been designed to stand out as a new-age adventure tourer with electric DNA. Classified as a crossover adventure motorcycle, it isn’t a hardcore off-roader but strikes the perfect balance between touring comfort, urban practicality, and sporty appeal. The design language draws heavily from the ‘X’ concept first unveiled at EICMA 2024, carrying forward the brand’s futuristic and angular styling cues while adapting them for real-world adventure use.

Visually, the motorcycle commands presence with its tall stance and upright riding ergonomics, giving riders confidence for long-distance journeys and city commutes alike. The bodywork is slim yet muscular, highlighted by sharply cut panels, aerodynamic creases, and modern all-LED lighting with distinctive DRLs that immediately mark it out as an Ultraviolette product.

The instrumentation has been reimagined with a new 5-inch TFT cluster supported by a secondary display, offering both essential ride data and access to features like dashcam playback. The ergonomics have been designed to provide comfort over extended rides, with wide handlebars and a neutral seating triangle that suits touring as well as daily use.

For riders looking for exclusivity, the X47 Desert Wing edition adds a unique sand-coloured paint scheme inspired by desert landscapes, paired with special graphics and a touring kit as standard. Ultraviolette has also created a comprehensive range of accessories, including panniers, knuckle guards, soft luggage, and crash protection, ensuring the bike can be tailored for long-distance touring or adventure trips.

When compared to petrol-powered rivals like the KTM 250 Adventure, the X47 feels more futuristic and distinctive. Where the KTM leans towards rugged simplicity, the Ultraviolette X47 brings a modern electric twist with its sharper surfaces, integrated radar hardware, and technology-driven cockpit, positioning it as one of the most progressive designs in the segment.

Dual-Camera Dashcam Setup

  • Twin cameras recording 1080p video at 30fps with a 120° field of view
  • 32GB onboard storage (expandable to 256GB)
  • Secondary display (above the 5-inch TFT cluster) for viewing footage

Rider Aids & Connectivity

  • 3-level traction control
  • Dual-channel switchable ABS
  • Dynamic stability control
  • eSIM connectivity for ride stats, remote tracking, and theft alerts
  • Redesigned instrument cluster layout with improved UI

Battery & Motor

Borrowing from the proven F77 platform, the X47 comes with two battery pack options:

VariantBattery PackIDC RangePerformanceWeight

  • Performance figures: 0–60km/h in 2.7s, 0–100km/h in 8.1s
  • Top speed: 145km/h (claimed)

Charging

The bike debuts a new 1.6kW onboard charger, which Ultraviolette claims is the world’s most power-dense air-cooled charger. Exact charging times are awaited, but expect faster top-ups compared to the F77 models.

Hardware & Chassis

  • Suspension: 41mm USD forks at the front, rear monoshock
  • Wheel travel: 170mm front & rear – suitable for light off-road conditions
  • Brakes: Bybre 320mm front disc & 230mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS
  • Ground clearance: 208mm (better than KTM 250 Adv’s 200mm, Triumph Scrambler 400X’s 195mm)
  • Chassis: All-new frame with cast aluminium subframe and narrower swingarm

This setup makes the X47 capable of tackling Indian roads, rough terrain, and touring duties, while still being road-friendly.

Price & Variants

  • Introductory Price: ₹2.49 lakh (first 1,000 customers, 7.1kWh version)
  • Standard Price: ₹2.74 lakh (7.1kWh version)

Triumph Scrambler 400 X₹2.94 lakhNA (Petrol)Similar ground clearance, classic ADV feel

Ultraviolette has cleverly priced the X47 below its own F77 Mach 2 while offering touring capability and advanced safety, making it an attractive middle-ground.

Who Should Buy the X47?

  • Touring Enthusiasts: Riders seeking long-distance capability with modern safety features
  • Tech Lovers: Those who value radar safety, dashcams, and connectivity features
  • EV Early Adopters: Buyers wanting a futuristic, eco-friendly alternative to KTM Adventure or Triumph Scrambler
  • Urban + Weekend Riders: Thanks to dual battery options, the X47 can manage both city commutes and highway rides

Verdict – A True Game-Changer?

The Ultraviolette X47 isn’t just another EV launch – it’s India’s first radar-equipped motorcycle, an adventure-tourer designed for real-world conditions. By blending tech, range, and pricing smartly, Ultraviolette has created a product that stands out in both the EV and ICE segments.

The ₹2.49 lakh introductory pricing makes it tempting for early adopters, especially when petrol rivals like the KTM 250 Adventure cost nearly the same without offering high-tech features. The X47 also gives Indian riders their first taste of radar-based safety, something even premium motorcycles are just beginning to adopt.

For those willing to experiment beyond petrol, the X47 Crossover is one of the most compelling motorcycles launched in India in 2025. It may well redefine what we expect from an adventure bike.
