The highly competitive 125cc commuter motorcycle space in India has just welcomed a bold new upgrade — the Hero Glamour X 125. Launched at a starting price of ₹89,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Glamour X comes in two variants (drum and disc) and introduces segment-first features like cruise control and three riding modes – Eco, Rain and Power. With this update, Hero is positioning the Glamour X as a smart blend of practicality, modern tech and everyday performance, directly challenging rivals like the TVS Raider 125, Bajaj Pulsar N125 and Honda SP 125.

Design & Colours

The new Hero Glamour X 125 strikes a fine balance between traditional commuter styling and modern touches. At first glance, its silhouette stays true to the tried-and-tested commuter design that appeals to mass buyers, but Hero has added enough fresh elements to make it stand out. The sculpted fuel tank now carries a metallic Glamour badge with a bold red ‘X’, instantly giving the bike a more premium identity.

The motorcycle is offered in five colour options – Matt Magnetic Silver, Candy Blazing Red, Metallic Nexus Blue, Black Teal Blue and Pearl Black Red – each designed to add some flair without being overly flashy. Small but thoughtful details like the sharp headlamp and tail-lamp design, compact tank extensions, and belly pan add a sporty edge.

Inside the cockpit, the bike gets a feature-packed colour LCD display, inspired by bigger Hero models like the Karizma XMR 210. It supports smartphone connectivity with call/SMS alerts, turn-by-turn navigation, real-time mileage data, gear position indicator and auto-brightness adjustment. Overall fit and finish feels solid for the segment, with well-aligned panels and clean wiring.

If there’s one miss, it’s the absence of a hinged fuel filler cap – a small but practical touch that would have complemented the Glamour X’s otherwise impressive design and feature set.

Features & Technology

Where the new Hero Glamour X 125 really shines is in its long list of features – many of which are unheard of in the commuter motorcycle space. The standout is undoubtedly the cruise control system, making it the first 125cc motorcycle in India to offer this convenience. For riders who spend long hours on highways or even extended city commutes, this is a big plus.

Adding to the package are three riding modes – Eco, Rain, and Power – that let the rider choose between efficiency, safety, or performance depending on road and weather conditions. This flexibility is usually reserved for higher-capacity motorcycles, which makes its presence here all the more impressive.

The Glamour X also comes equipped with Hero’s i3S start/stop technology, which helps save fuel in stop-go traffic, as well as LED lighting elements for better visibility. The fully digital colour LCD console supports smartphone connectivity, offering turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, real-time mileage data, gear position indicator, and auto brightness adjustment.

Taken together, the Glamour X sets a new benchmark for what a commuter motorcycle can offer. Hero has clearly gone beyond the basics to deliver a bike that feels modern, connected, and future-ready, without losing its commuter-friendly nature.

Performance & Engine

Powering the new Hero Glamour X 125 is the familiar 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, now tuned to deliver a healthier dose of performance. Shared with the Hero Xtreme 125R, the motor produces 11.5hp and 10.5Nm of torque, putting it on par with – and in some cases ahead of – rivals in the segment.

The biggest highlight is the integration of ride-by-wire technology, which enables the three distinct riding modes – Eco, Rain and Power. While the peak output figures remain the same across modes, the throttle response and mapping change noticeably. Eco mode prioritises efficiency, Rain softens response for better traction in slippery conditions, and Power sharpens up throttle delivery for a more spirited ride.

The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox that offers smooth and precise shifts, while the addition of fuel-injection ensures cleaner performance and consistent power delivery. Hero has also carried over its i3S idle start/stop system, helping improve real-world fuel economy, particularly in city traffic.

On the move, the Glamour X feels refined and easy-going at city speeds, while still having enough punch for short highway runs. The balance of everyday usability with a touch of performance makes it well-suited for both office commuters and riders looking for something a little more versatile in the 125cc space.

Ride & Handling

The Hero Glamour X 125 has been engineered to deliver a balance of comfort and control – essential traits for a commuter that also promises modern versatility. Built on a diamond frame, the bike feels light and predictable, making it easy to manoeuvre through crowded city streets.

Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear, tuned more towards comfort than outright sportiness. The setup soaks up potholes and uneven roads reasonably well, ensuring a composed ride even on broken urban surfaces.

Braking options vary by variant: the base model comes with 130mm drum brakes at both ends, while the higher variant adds a 240mm front disc for better stopping power. Both versions feature CBS (Combined Braking System), offering enhanced safety and stability under hard braking.

In terms of ergonomics, the Glamour X offers a comfortable upright riding posture, with a well-padded seat and neutral handlebar positioning that reduces fatigue on longer commutes. At 790mm seat height, it is accessible to a wide range of riders, while the bike’s kerb weight of around 122–124kg makes it manageable even for newer riders.

The slightly sportier design touches like the compact tank extensions and belly pan don’t compromise practicality – instead, they complement a riding experience that feels both dependable and a touch more premium compared to traditional 125cc commuters.

Price, Rivals & Verdict

The Hero Glamour X 125 is available in two variants – Drum at ₹89,999 and Disc at ₹99,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Considering the added technology and segment-first features, the price hike over the older Glamour Xtec remains fairly reasonable.

In terms of competition, the Glamour X goes up against some strong rivals in the commuter-premium space:

  • TVS Raider 125 – sporty styling, digital console, but no cruise control.
  • Honda SP 125 – refined engine, fuel efficiency leader, but fewer features.
  • Bajaj Pulsar N125 – youthful design, performance focus, but lacks the feature richness of the Glamour X.

Where the Hero truly differentiates itself is with cruise control, three riding modes, and smartphone connectivity – features unheard of at this price point in the 125cc category. While its design remains more commuter-oriented than sporty, this is likely a deliberate move to retain mass-market appeal.

Verdict

With the Glamour X 125, Hero has managed to blend everyday practicality with premium features in a way that redefines expectations from a 125cc commuter. For riders who want a dependable daily motorcycle that doesn’t compromise on modern tech and convenience, the Glamour X stands out as a working-class hero with a futuristic twist.
