Citroën India has officially unveiled the Citroën Aircross X on October 3, 2025, marking the third addition to its ‘X’ series lineup after the C3 X and Basalt X. This refreshed compact SUV blends premium features, advanced tech, and robust safety at an accessible price point, starting from ₹8.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant. The X-specific trims kick off at ₹9.77 lakh, positioning it as a feature-rich upgrade over the standard model while intensifying competition in the sub-compact SUV segment. With its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating and innovative CARA AI assistant, the Aircross X is designed for urban families seeking comfort, connectivity, and capability without breaking the bank.

Social media buzz has been swift, with users praising its 5-star safety and turbo performance at a budget price, as seen in recent posts highlighting it as “2025’s smartest SUV buy.”

The 2025 Aircross lineup spans five key variants, offering flexibility in seating (5 or 7) and transmission options. All prices are ex-showroom, and CNG kits are available as dealer-fitted on base models. Here’s the complete breakdown:

The full range now tops out at ₹13.49 lakh, making it a compelling entry in the family SUV space.

2025 Citroën Aircross X Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Aircross X caters to varied needs with two petrol engine choices:

  • Base (You variant): 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (82hp, 115Nm) mated to a 5-speed manual. Ideal for city commutes with an ARAI mileage of 18.5 kmpl (petrol) or up to 26.8 km/kg (CNG).
  • X Variants (Plus and Max): Punchier 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (110hp, 190Nm MT / 205Nm AT) paired with a 6-speed manual or torque-converter automatic. It delivers 17.6-18.5 kmpl, emphasizing smooth highway cruising and a tight 5.3m turning radius for urban agility. Ground clearance remains at 200mm, ensuring versatility over potholes.

No diesel or hybrid options yet, but the turbo setup provides peppy acceleration (0-100kmph in under 11 seconds for AT variants).

2025 Citroën Aircross X Design and Comfort: Refined Yet Practical

Exterior

The Aircross X retains the bold, upright stance of its predecessor but adds subtle flair:

  • New ‘Aircross X’ badging on the tailgate.
  • Expanded color palette, including the striking Deep Forest Green.
  • LED projector headlamps with DRLs, LED fog lamps, and 16-inch dual-tone alloys.
  • Overall dimensions: 4,323mm long, 1,796mm wide, 1,665mm tall, with a class-leading 444L boot (expandable to 1,268L).

It’s tough on the outside, with a 200mm ground clearance rivaling urban adventurers.

Interior

Step inside for a premium glow-up:

  • Leatherette-wrapped dashboard with gold accents and brown upholstery.
  • Redesigned 3-spoke steering and gear lever for better ergonomics.
  • Ventilated front seats (Max only) and spacious cabin with Advanced Comfort seats absorbing bumps effortlessly.

The 7-seater layout offers flexible 60:40 second-row sliding, though third-row space is best for kids.

2025 Citroën Aircross X Tech and Convenience Upgrades

Citroën’s focus on smart living shines through:

  • Infotainment: Bezel-less 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, 7-inch digital driver’s display, and steering-mounted controls.
  • CARA AI Assistant: A standout—tracks flight status, optimizes routes around traffic/delays, monitors vehicle health, and enables SOS calls.
  • Convenience: Push-button start, passive entry, auto-dimming IRVM, cruise control, and rear AC vents.

It’s connected without complexity, appealing to tech-savvy buyers.

2025 Citroën Aircross X Safety: Uncompromised Protection

Building on its 5-star Bharat NCAP score, standard kit includes:

  • Six airbags, ESC, hill-hold assist, TPMS, and ISOFIX.
  • Optional 360° camera on Max.
  • Speed-sensing door locks, overspeed warnings, and tyre repair kit.

This edges out many rivals in crash protection.

2025 Citroën Aircross X How It Stacks Up Against Rivals

In the cutthroat sub-4m SUV arena, the Aircross X battles the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Kia Seltos. Here’s a quick spec showdown (base petrol variants for fairness):

Pros of Aircross X: Superior safety, spacious boot, value-packed X trims. It’s longer and more stable than the Venue/Nexon, with better family utility than the pricier Seltos.

Cons: No sunroof (unlike Venue/Seltos), limited service network vs Tata/Hyundai, and base NA engine feels underpowered.

Overall, it shines for safety-conscious buyers on a budget, undercutting loaded rivals by ₹1-2 lakh.

2025 Citroën Aircross X Verdict: A Smart Family Pick?

The Aircross X isn’t reinventing the wheel—it’s polishing it with French flair. At ₹9.77 lakh entry for turbo power and AI smarts, it’s a no-brainer for urban families prioritizing safety and space. Test drive one soon; with fresh buzz on X calling it a “budget 5-star stunner,” demand could spike. Head to Citroën dealerships for offers—GST benefits up to ₹1.1 lakh on 2024 stock await! What do you think—game-changer or gimmick?
