The Hyundai Creta has dominated the midsize SUV space in India for a decade. To celebrate its 10-year journey, Hyundai has crowned the lineup with three new variants — King, King Knight, and King Limited Edition. These special trims bring meaningful upgrades in comfort, convenience, and style, giving the familiar Creta a royal edge without altering its proven driving DNA.

What’s New in the Creta King

Hyundai has focused on features you’ll actually use every day. The King range introduces:

  • Bold 18-inch alloy wheels for a more commanding stance
  • Powered driver’s seat with memory plus 8-way powered passenger seat
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control with a sleek touch-based HVAC panel
  • Built-in dashcam for added peace of mind
  • Sliding front armrest with storage
  • Distinctive ‘King’ badging
  • Seatback tray table with device holder and front passenger “boss mode”
  • Native wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support

These aren’t gimmicks — they are practical upgrades designed to make everyday commutes and long drives feel more premium.

King vs King Knight vs King Limited Edition

  • Creta King: Available across all engines, this is the complete luxury pack.
  • Creta King Knight: Darker styling with an all-black theme, matte-finished alloys, and Knight insignia, offered with select engine options.
  • Creta King Limited Edition: Adds premium accessories like branded seat-belt covers, headrest cushions, key cover, carpet mats, and exclusive colors.

Engines & Gearboxes

The Creta King keeps the proven powertrain lineup:

  • 1.5L petrol (115 PS) with 6-speed manual or IVT (CVT)
  • 1.5L diesel (116 PS) with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic
  • 1.5L turbo-petrol (160 PS) with 7-speed dual-clutch automatic

Price Range (Ex-showroom, Delhi)

  • King 1.5 Petrol MT: ₹17.88 lakh
  • King 1.5 Petrol IVT: ₹19.35 lakh
  • King 1.5 Diesel MT: ₹19.47 lakh
  • King 1.5 Diesel AT: ₹20.42 lakh
  • King 1.5 Turbo DCT: ₹20.61 lakh
  • King Knight Petrol IVT: ₹19.49 lakh
  • King Knight Diesel AT: ₹20.77 lakh
  • King Limited Petrol IVT: ₹19.64 lakh
  • King Limited Diesel AT: ₹20.91 lakh

Design & Cabin Feel

The Creta King looks instantly more upscale. The 18-inch alloys fill the arches properly, while the subtle badges set it apart. Step inside, and the dual-zone AC with touch controls makes the cabin feel modern and tidy. Powered seats with memory are a boon for multi-driver households, and the seatback trays are unexpectedly handy on long journeys.

The King Knight turns heads with its stealthy blacked-out finish, while the King Limited Edition appeals to buyers who want an SUV with curated, luxury-inspired touches straight from the showroom.

Who Should Buy Which

  • Everyday commuters and families: King Petrol IVT for smooth city drives with premium touches
  • Long-distance travelers: King Diesel AT for effortless highway cruising and fuel economy
  • Style-seekers: King Knight for the bold all-black look
  • Comfort lovers: King Limited Edition for the extra accessories and plush cabin vibe
  • Performance fans: King Turbo-Petrol DCT for punchy acceleration with added luxury

Community Buzz

Early impressions highlight the dashcam, dual-zone AC, and powered seats as the most appreciated upgrades. The King Knight’s dark theme is already popular among younger buyers. Some enthusiasts speculate about potential dynamic lighting or suspension updates, but for now Hyundai has chosen to focus on comfort and premium feel rather than mechanical changes.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Real, everyday-useful features added
  • Distinct style options to suit different buyers
  • Retains all the core strengths of the Creta — space, reliability, ease of use
  • Feature trickle-down expected across other Creta trims

Cons

  • Premium pricing over regular variants
  • No performance or suspension upgrades
  • Blacked-out Knight design may divide opinion

Verdict

The Creta King range gives India’s favorite midsize SUV the treatment it deserves after ten successful years. With meaningful convenience features, smarter cabin tech, and distinctive styling choices, Hyundai has made the Creta feel special again.

If you were already considering a top-end Creta, the King Edition is the one that justifies the stretch. The Knight is perfect for those who like bold presence, while the Limited Edition offers indulgent extras that make the SUV feel tailor-made.
